Red Hook is a neighborhood located in South Brooklyn ... West of Park Slope, East of Governer's Island, Northwest of Sunset Park/Greenwood Hts, South of Carroll Gardens. Its the longtime home of Brooklyn longshoremen and other blue-collars, but also home to a wide variety of residents.
Red Hook has the best views of the Statue of Liberty and you get not only one skyline view, but two from the waterfront ... Governer's Island and Manhattan.
Come explore and find out all of the great things Red Hook has to offer, from excellent bars and restaurants to art and much more.
You can get to here by:
Driving: The vehicles-only Brooklyn-Battery Tunnel or the BQE.
Subway and Bus: The B61 bus, formerly a trolley line, runs as a 24-hour service from Erie Basin Red Hook through Downtown Brooklyn, Clinton Hill, Williamsburg, and Greenpoint, terminating at Long Island City, Queens. The B77 bus connects with the F + G Line's Smith-Ninth Streets station.
Or you can ride your bike (its a nice ride). Red Hook is not as inaccessible as people believe.

i'm looking for a place in red hook to host a small wedding & reception, preferably on the water but after speaking to many people this seems impossible! any suggestions? i live in the neighborhood & have a shop in the neighborhood and would love to support the hood & host my event there...
Yeah that does seem kind of difficult ... but what about maybe speaking to someone who has space within Pier 41? There seems to be some bare space in there that might be rentable for an event like that and at least you'd have the water views?
(Sorry about the late reply to this)
